Now that I know that vacations are really over,
now that I know that the teacher meeting is coming,
now that I know I'm sad that resting is all over,
and that school will start over,

I don't want it.

Maybe I'll make new friends,
but I don't want it.

I want to stay at home and cuddle up,
and sleep, eat, and play all I want.

I just tell you I don't want it.

If all the raindrops in the world
Decided to fall on me
Why, I wouldn't cry
I wouldn't flee

If all the sunshine in the world
Decided to disappear
Why, I wouldn't go to find it
I'd stay right here.

But, if YOU suddenly leave me
To some place far away
Why, I'd run after you
In my place I would not stay

I'd follow you everywhere
To the musem, the park, the zoo
Why, I'd follow you all the way to... to...
Timbuktu!

So you see? You shouldn't leave me
And go to someplace yonder,
'Cause in this little place with me,
Nobody'll love you fonder.

If all the raindrops in the world
Came down on me, happy and free
It wouldn't matter
As long as you're here with me.

Oh young bird
With your feathers unruffled so;
Why do you spend all your time with me
When there are places you can go?

There are other lands than this little place
Beautiful lands of red and green
Lands I want to go to;
Places I have never seen.

You can fly, little bird
Fly up to the clouds,
Surrounded by the blue,blue clouds
Free of pollution and crowds.

So why don't you fly, little bird?
And leave me all alone?
Leave me with my thoughts
No electricity or phone.

There, I have convinced you now,
You're leaving this house and lawn
Off to find someone; maybe yourself
Going, going, gone.

Writing a poem
(A very hard thing to do)
Is very fun
(But difficult too)

Hey! Maybe writing a poem isn't so hard after all!

Put a smile on your face,
Put some happiness in you heart,
Sadness gone without a trace
To ecstasy you will dart.

Put some energy in your bones
Put some dance in your shoes
Movement does not drone
You won't have the blues

Put some tunes in your brain
Put some music in your blood
Your sadness will drain
Happiness will flood

Put some laughter in your teeth
Put some jokes on your tounge
Sadness gone with an imaginary thief
AND LEAVES YOU WITH...
